FEED MY PET RAW OR BARF?

You must be wondering what this "NEW FAD" diet is for your dog, that everyone is talking about.

Well, feeding your dog
RAW is not new…kibble (dry dog food) is the new kid on the block. It has only been around since World War II. Prior to that, everyone fed their dogs table scraps, remnants from the garden and whatever else the family dog could scrounge up. During that time, cancer, thyroid, Cushing's disease, and arthritis were almost unheard of. During the past few years, with the demand of schedules and the desire for convenience in feeding the family pet, the popularity of kibble has grown. It doesn't matter that most today's health problems of our dogs and cats, stem from inappropriate nutrition.

Feeding
RAW has many wonderful benefits. It helps your pet's immune system become healthier, resulting in fewer health issues. Among those who feed their dogs good protein, some still feel it is important to cook any food, given to their dogs. And, even though this is healthier than feeding kibble, they are still cooking out the nutrients and enzymes that help your pet stay healthy.

Comments like; "My pet will get e-coli, other bacteria infections or even "chicken bone splinters"! Well, cooked chicken bones (any cooked bones) are very dangerous to your pet. The "chemical structure" of bones
changes when you cook them, making them dangerous to swallow and digest. Raw bones are not only satisfying to your pet, but very nutritious. Chicken parts do carry e-coli and some bacteria's, but they actually have some benefits for your pets. Dogs and cats have a different digestive system than humans, that is why grains and diced up vegetables, are not conducive to pet's digestive systems.

It is Bone Appetit's goal to make your pet the healthiest it can be, through nutrition. Nutrition is one of the most important foundations for supporting good health. When your pet is provided good nutrition for its body, the body has a better chance of using its immune system and natural healing mechanisms. Even though there are other factors to consider, nutrition is one of the most important. We have seen greatly enhancing changes in behavior, chronic skin conditions, and energy, just by changing to raw food.

OUR VEGETABLES

Bone Appetit only uses the finest organic vegetables and fruits available. We reach our nutrition goals through our fruits and veggies so we do not have to add any supplements. The generally called "Green Foods", that Bone Appetit uses, include alfalfa, wheat grass, and dandelions. These are excellent sources of beta-carotene, minerals, amino acids, fiber and enzymes. They also contain beneficial antioxidants. Alfalfa is commonly recommended for arthritis and joint problems, because it has high in vitamin K content and is highly nutritious.

Bone Appetit does not use any underground veggies. These are high in carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are sugar, and sugar feeds yeast and cancer. The only underground herb we use is Burdock. Burdock is the traditional herb for the treatment of chronic skin problems. It is also considered a blood purifier and liver stimulator. The other product that Bone Appetit does not use, is grain.

We have based our product on the digestive system of the wolf. You never see a wolf out in the wheat field eating the tops off the grains, but you do see them eat the vegetative stomach content of a fresh kill. This is in a pre-digestive state that is very nutritious. This is why we use a process that pulverizes the vegetables to a pre-digestive state, using the vegetable's own juices.

OUR MEATS

All of Bone Appetit's chicken, turkey, pork, beef, duck, and lamb products are USDA inspected and human grade. We use no stressed meat, 4D meat, meat byproducts or crude proteins. Our motto: IF WE CAN'T EAT IT, WE WON'T FEED IT. We utilize only chicken backs with rib cage as this the best meat to bone ratio, then we grind it to a course consistency.
The offal (organ meats) that we use is also USDA human grade. We use beef heart and lamb kidney. These products are very important to your pet's diet. The heart offers a different kind of meat protein and the kidney is beneficial for digestion.

The fish that we use in our products are the four main bait fish; mackerel, herring, anchovies or sardines. These bait fish offer the proper nutrients, vitamins and omega 3 and omega 6 that are required for a healthy immune system.

We also add alfalfa, kelp and raw apple cider vinegar to aid your pet in their digestion, skin and coat.

It is important to feed your pets a variety of meats, because each meat offers a different source of meat proteins. Our most popular product is the variety meal deals. (See our product line)
